RYA Advanced Powerboat Course

This advanced course is for the more experienced power boater and is the required standard by many professional bodies such as the RNLI, Police and Military. During the course you will carry out more advanced manoeuvres such as lee shore handling, helicopter rescue procedures, berthing in adverse conditions and search and rescue patterns. You will also learn more about high speed and night time navigation and put this into practice on a night time passage.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU INTEND TO USE THIS QUALIFICATION COMMERCIALLY YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE AN INDEPENDANT EXAM AT THE END OF THE COURSE CONDUCTED BY AN MCA/RYA EXAMINER. THERE IS AN EXTRA FEE FOR THE BOAT AND EXAM FEE. IF SUCCESFULL YOU WILL NEED TO GET THIS CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE COMMERCIALLY ENDORSED.

Previous Experience Required: Knowledge to RYA Intermediate Powerboat level and a level of navigational knowledge to RYA Coastal/Yachtmaster Theory level. RYA First Aid certificate and SRC/VHF Radio Licence.
